PRECISE Financial Literacy Courses

Fundamental Financial Literacy Program for Elementary School Students

This program contains fundamental courses that help students learn the basic concepts in financial literacy.  It provides students with an all-encompassing understanding without delving into the complexities of the concepts. 

 

Sample courses:

 

  •  Introductory Financial Literacy

 

Provides students with a more accurate understanding of financial literacy.  It also inculcates the right value among children and help them understand how financial literacy can help promote these values.

The course also helps students develop a basic understanding of core concepts such as budgeting, financial planning, financial risks and other basic financial theories.

 

  •  Introductory Finance for Elementary School Students

 

This is a “First Course in Finance” for students.  The course aims at ensuring that students develop a good understanding of important financial theories.  Through the course, students will learn the different types of financial systems in different parts of the world, financial markets, financial organizations etc. 

​

The course will also provide students with a basic understanding of international finance and foreign currency markets, risks and hedging.

​

In order to ensure that the students appreciate what they learn, we will further demonstrate how fluctuations in the financial world impact their daily lives in a way that they can easily understand. 

Intermediate Financial Literacy Program for Elementary School Students

The courses in the program will help the students build a more advanced understanding of the concepts and theories that they have acquired in the fundamental courses.

At the same time, we will introduce additional financial concepts through the intermediate courses.  The courses in this program will continue to focus on inculcating students with right value and understanding of financial literacy.

  •  Intermediate Financial Literacy

 

This is an intermediate course on financial literacy for elementary school students. Building on the basic financial knowledge that the students have previously acquired, the course aims to ensure students can more accurately understand and put into use the essential theories in financial planning, investments and risks.

​

In addition, we will put more emphasis on the introduction of financial and banking establishments and financial management.  This provides students with a basic understanding of the functions of such establishments and their importance in the business world as well as how we can leverage the expertise of such establishment in our financial plans.  

 

  •  Intermediate Financial Planning for Elementary School Students

 

This course is a more intensive guide building on the basic knowledge that students acquire from ‘Introductory Financial Literacy’.   

​

It provides students with dedicated tools to help them develop a more advanced understanding of the theories in budgeting, investments and risks. Students will undertake more initiatives in building their own financial plans.  In the process, the course will put more focus on guiding the students on how to more accurately define risks and how to hedge the risks. 

Advanced Financial Literacy Program for Elementary School Students

Courses in this program build on the theories and concepts that students acquire in the fundamental and advanced programs.  The courses focus on relatively advanced concepts in financial literacy such as introducing students to basic theories in international finance.

In addition, the courses also emphasizes more on practicality that requires students to incorporate more advanced financial literacy concepts in their financial plans.

  •  Financial Management and Planning For Your Future

 

This course is an advanced guide building on the basic knowledge that students acquire from the fundamental and intermediate courses.   

​

We will guide students in establishing a clearer understanding of their financial needs in the future.  Students will make use of many of the concepts they have learned to build a full-fledged financial plan.

 

  •  International Finance

 

This course aims to help students develop an understanding of more advanced knowledge in international finance.  The course will focus on the foundations of international finance such as the foreign exchange markets (building on the concepts they have acquired in the fundamental and intermediate courses), foreign exchange exposure and management, world financial markets, financial management of multinational firms etc.  

Immersion at Top Universities

We will invite students to attend courses at top universities in the US and Europe.  The courses will be specially tailored for elementary school students to ensure that they can fully benefit from these courses.

In addition, students will be introduced to the special culture of the university they visit, and will have the opportunities to interact with top faculties.

Individually Designed International Projects

Apart from the international projects that all level of students will participate through the Fundamental Financial Literacy Program, this special program is dedicated to advanced-level students who are interested in gaining more international exposure.

​

Through this program, we will design a special project for each student based on the needs and interest of the student.  The mid-term project will span several weeks or months (depending on the needs of the student) and will involve interaction with domestic and foreign students and professionals in their area of interests, visits to relevant countries, among other activities.  Students will take an active role in the execution of these projects. 

Finance, Media and Information Technology (FMIT) Program

Advances in technology are having an increasing impact on the business and financial world.  But the generation is also facing the risks of being manipulated by certain information channeled through technology and media.

​

This program contains intermediate and advanced courses on how students can more accurate obtain useful financial information and how they can make full use of the information or data in the most responsible manner.   

 

Sample courses:

 

  •  Financial information, media and information technology I

 

This course is a more intensive guide building on the basic knowledge that students acquire from ‘Introductory Financial Literacy’.   

​

We will train the students to be more discerning of the financial information provided by the media that they are exposed to every day.  Through this course, students will develop the capability on how to more accurately differentiate facts from opinion and false information.  In addition, students will also be able to learn to leverage technology to research, retrieve and compile financial information that is useful to them.  

 

  •  Financial information, media and information technology II

 

This course allows students to undertake group and individual projects to put into practice the tools and concepts that they have acquired. 

​

Throughout the course, students will be given a more intensive guide on how to use online financial resources, database, analyst reports as well as relevant reports in different group projects. 

Charity Program

This program contains special projects that help students further develop and practice the theories they learn in a meaningful way.  Through this program, students are given the opportunity to take lead in the conceptualization, planning, execution and follow-up of different charity programs or events.
